AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED

The price has increased quite a bit, I remember not long ago, it was less than $400 on sale. I didn't buy it then, I don't think I will buy it now. It was certainly in my list of lenses in terms of price and quality for a D7000. Like KmH said, I can't stand the f/4.5-5.6 setup.

I agree this lens used to be cheaper in price. In general its okay but needs a lot of light to function properly. After buying it my wife pretty much has taken it over so I had to buy a 80-200mm 2.8. It was twice the price but is ten times the lens.

Can't comment on the Nikkor, but the Canon equivalent is a piece of trash. You're better off with a quality 70-200 or a nice prime.

Are you talking about the cheap 75-300 or the more expensive 70-300 IS?

The 70-300 IS. I couldn't stand it. The zoom creep was insane, and it felt so cheap. Not to mention the terribly lacking IQ compared to a 70-200.
