Here is the line up... (LOL) Getting the Nikon D7000 so the lens would be for that...

1. Tamron SP AF17-50mm F2.8 XR Di-II VC LD Asp IF Nikon+1 Year Warranty

2. Tamron SP B005 17-50mm F/2.8 AF XR Di-II VC IF Lens For Nikon

3. Sigma EX 17 mm-50 mm F/2.8 HSM DC OS Lens For Nikon

4. Tokina AT-X PRO DX AF 16 mm-50 mm F/2.8 Lens For Nikon

I've never looked up or played with the Tokina. But I'd lay my money for the Sigma out of the top three.

I have the Tamron 17-50 XR Di-II non VC and its a great lens. Got it slightly used for $300 almost new condition in the box. The sigma HSM lenses i noticed were more expensive but i dont know how much better it is, if any. I couldnt resist the tamron at that price and it got good reviews.

I've heard ALOT of stories about the Tamrons having front/back focusing issues. You could rival that by saying Sigma has some quality control issues as well. But everyone I know who has either of the lenses are very happy with them. The very few people I know that have used both say the Sigma is a few notches better in overall usability.
