AHHHH, scanning 4x5 help with epson v300

Hello peeps. I have a epson v300 scanner and I was wondering how to properly scan a 4x5. I have the mat inserted correctly but every time I scan it says "please remove the document mat and/or close the document cover"

Do you have the light in the lid switched to ON?

Also, you can not be in "reflective" mode and scan a 4x5 transparency or negative.

This is interesting. I too have been looking at the V300 all day, mostly to scan my 35mm and 6x6 B&W negs.

Everything that I am reading is saying that the V300 cant handle anything larger than 35mm negs, unless you lay them on the glass and use the white document piece.

CAN you actually scan 6x6 successfullly? Do you need a special adapter?
