I am currently shooting with the Tokina 11-16 dxii and the lack of picture quality is something that is starting to bug me a lot now, because i shoot a lot of wide angle shots. I'm looking to get some better glass, i've thought about the 14-24 but i told myself that maybe i should consider alternatives, what alternative to the 14-24 2.8g would you recommend?

FX

Sigma 12-24/4.5-5.6.
Nikkor 17-35/2.8 AF-D.
Nikkor 16-35/4.
Tokina 16-28/2.8
Tokina 17-35/4

I need that 12mm and a f2.8. Perhaps i could postpone a new dslr to invest in the 14-24, my d3200 still has a lot of life in it.

You will have to compromise...

Prime:

Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical

Nikon AF Nikkor 14mm f/2.8D ED

Sigma 14mm F2.8 EX Aspherical HSM

Zoom:

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

Tokina AT-X 16-28 F2.8 PRO FX Nikon

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR

Nikon AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED

Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM II Nikon

You can always get a Nikkor 16/2.8 or Sigma 15/2.8 fisheye and defish it in post.

This one really caught my eye. But it nearly costs just as much as as the 14-24.

Try an used lens, maybe you can get a good deal.

How much are you looking to spend? Have you considered the Nikon 10-24?

The tokina 16-28 is suppose to be a great wide angle zoom lense.

Looks like a solid performer, but 16mm is just not wide enough.
