PS- if this does not qualify as whimsy- I must admit that I have no idea what whimsy means- I just like to say the word 'whimsy'.

Not sure that I'm any more the expert in determining a "whimsical" portrait, but to me the second fits the term just as well and is by far a better choice on processing.

I think you did very well on it, it certainly looks whimsical to me. I like fantasy/whimsical type pictures since I like art and I'm close to putting one of my own up on the forum.
