Yes I know John, the vignette is a bit OTT but it helps to hide the rather awkward edges, which you'd probably like even less

Pete, good work on composing the subject, I like that "grouping". The light is also attractive and showing the harshness of material. What I don't like is the background, it simply doesn't work for me with the motif.

Thanks Timor. Yes, the background was awkward for this shot. It was taken at a middle-ages festival, and this was a mock up of an old blacksmith's forge. They did a great job of it, and the forge and anvil were being used - impossible to get a decent photo of that because of the crowds - but not quite authentic, I suppose.

All my photos are shot with film. I do occasionally do some digital PP, as is the case here, and I also like to digitally print from scans; but the photos themselves are all good old film.
