...did a huge series of simple, gritty portraits of simple, gritty people from the midwest and west? 8x10 camera, white background on almost all of them, 70's or 80's time frame. He's pretty famous, but I can't for the life of me remember. It isn't Walker Evans, BTW. Thanks. This is driving me nuts!

Dick Sanders. Oh yeah, then there is Avedon but he is washed up compared to Sanders.
