I recently purchased a canon eos 20d. I noticed it has some built-in filters but can anyone tell me if it has a polarizing filter built in? i cant seem to find one but then this is my first digital SLR and Iam still getting to grips with it

thanks people

The built-in filters are used with the black and white mode of the camera. They work the same way as color filters with black and white film.

My advise would be not to use black and white mode, but to convert it later to black and white. You have much more control over the final tonal range.

And no, there is no polarizer built in.

Doh,

ok thanks for the advice, here's another question, Where is the cable release input on the camera? am i going mad, does it have one?

Yes, it has a cable release, well, it's called a remote switch. It's on the lower left side, along with all the other ports.

oh, i saw that remote switch thing, thanks alot
