Thoughts on these? Any suggestions on these?

The first shot is not interesting.

The light and shadows are distracting in the second shot. I probably would've gotten lower with the camera and gotten more of your subject (which I assume was the base of the stump) in the frame. All in all it's a busy shot that could be better.

The first one is the better of the two. The second one is too cluttered with shadows. For the first one, the tree in the background is quite distracting from a compositional perspective. Better to have concentrated on the group of two or the group of three and tried to isolate them against an out-of-focus background, rather than trying to capture all five of them together.

So... It could be because I'm slightly sleep deprived at the moment and its 3:30am and I should be asleep. That said...


I swear #2 looks like one tree getting a lap dance from another.

The first is a better composition but it has some serious focus issues not to mention all its other problems...reshoot time, me thinks.
