Are lenses region locked?

I am wondering if Nikon compatible lenses are region locked from other countries? Like if i buy a sigma or Nikon lens from every part of the world, will it work on my Nikon camera?

There's no 'region locking' of any sort; I've bought lenses in the Middle East, US, and they all work fine. Where you may have a problem is with warranties, as they are often limited to the country/region of sale.
