Are mice different?

I find that my mouse often sticks at points and was wnodering what type of mouse is best for altering digital images. Are laser mice better than the old ball mice?

I like the optical mice much better. I can't stand the sticking from the ball mice once dust and crap build up in there.
I did have a problem with my optical mouse jumping across the screen though, I think it was because of the grain on my desk, I got a good mouse pad and it's been all good ever since.

I think I'll go pick up an optical mouse, any suggestions for type.

If editing digital images is your goal...they say the best thing is a Wacom Tablet.
