This little one did not want to be a newborn. lol No sleeping, no curling, no being anywhere other than moms arms.
So mom was draped with a blankie and I had baby up on/over her shoulder and I got a couple cute shots.
Here is my favorite. I know that the bottom left hand corner is blown a bit. :/ Nothing I can do about that in post. :/

Some older people feel the pictures made of sleeping newborns look like old-time crib death portraits, and they detest the new fad of photographing newborns asleep. Of course, those people are mostly great-grandparents now, so who cares, right/

CUTE kid in this shoot! Great head of hair, nice features. Lighting looks pretty good too. You did a good job keeping the hair separated from the black backdrop.

cute! both my son and my friends i took some pics of refused sleeping.. lol so no, not all sleep!

This is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing.

Cute! Great idea about Mom holding the baby with the over shoulder shot.

Just so cute beautiful little one, well done

This image is good. It doesn't have the WOW factor though. Why couldn't you fix the blown areas in post? Are you shooting in RAW? I like the skin tones and sharpness of the image.
