I'm intrigued by the circle around the "bad area". Particularly the houses only half-covered by the circle. Are there drug-dealers living on one side of the houses and honest respectable citizens who never illegally downloaded an MP3 on the other? I hope they have a cleaning rota.
:lmao:
Nope those are just half bad, some of the time. :lmao:
Honest answer. Take some friends. Chances are that nothing is going to happen in the first place, but numbers are good.
I've walked around some pretty interesting places like, from downtown Reno/Sparks, out to the remote casinos, at about Midnight. Two blocks off Fremont street, where all the stores have metal security gates and bars. Blocks from the convention center, 5 points in Atlanta, and I just walked like I belonged there, didn't wear flashy clothes, and didn't have a camera hanging around my neck, but in a kind of ratty bag.
I only had one person that kind of spooked me. I said hello as I walked by and he said "If you talk to me again, I'll kill you." (honest!) I just kept walking and didn't look back.
Daylight at an abandoned train station? Piece of cake. However, you may be trespassing, so getting permission would be nice. At the least, notify the police that you are on an assignment to photograph the building for historical research and preservation. They may be nice and send someone to escort you?
