this is a indeed an exposure full of tension and mystery.

I can explain everything you mentioned but I won't because that would ruin the mystery part.

What do you mean shining a torch in his face? Thats the only part I didn't get.

That is a deeply odd picture.

torch=flashlight in some parts of the world.

Looks like either "torch" or you were horsing around with a snoot.

Hmmm... If the things on the desk are important, then I wish you'd have closed down your aperature a bit so they'd be more in focus. The man doesn't even seem like he's totally in focus. To be honest (and this could be me so please don't take it personally) I just don't get this photo. It looks like a snapshot to me. Maybe something I'd put in the family album if I wanted to showcase his work eviroment but other than that... I just don't see the point.

The stuff on the desk is not supposed to be important but it has gained some comedic attention here, which is cool.

This is part of a series that will be in an exhibit that will be travling around the area starting in Sept. or Oct to raise awarness for what a local homeless shelter (the third largest homeless shelter in the U.S.) does to help.

This is a homeless man at work. That's his desk and it's in the shelter.
