I'd the Audubon Birds from Amazon app store last time when it was free. It help identifying the bird during or after the shooting. Let see how this butterfly works.

I have the Butterflies from a previous "free" download opportunity, as well as the Birds app and the Insects & Spiders--all downloaded when they were free; they're normally $4.99.

I have found them to be pretty useful--I use the Birds and the Insects app more than the Butterflies, but that's because I take more pictures of birds and insects!
I would definitely recommend them if you are interested in photographing those things; it's nice to know what you are taking pictures of! The guides are by no means comprehensive, but I'd say I've been able to identify my subject about 80% of the time using one of the guides.

Still waiting to find the Wildflowers and Trees guides for free, and maybe even the Mammals and Mushrooms, though those two would definitely have to be free as they just don't interest me as much.
