Hi,

In the photo below - those buttons (there are 3, 2 not shown) I have the arrow pointing to - I've been able to determine that they are an Auto Lock system. How are they used? What sort of scenario would require their use.

There is one on my 80-200mm and I have no idea how to use or why.

Thanks!
Daf

No one? Okay, I'll keep digging and post what I find in case anyone else ever wants to know.

It looks like joejack951 answered your post on dpreview :)

He did! Cool - thanks! Seems to be a way to freeze the AF for recomposing or maybe even target focusing. Does feel a bit awkward to me as I try to use. Using it and zooming would be right out of question without some practice! ;)

Some lenses can be locked to prevent lens creep. So possibly one of your buttons is for that. Just a guess. The Nikon 18-200 doesn't have it but desperately needs it and my Tamron 17-50 has it and doesn't need it.
