Auxiliary Lenses

I just bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 and was looking at buying an add-on lens for it... I was looking at this kit and was wondering if it would be a good buy.

I'm going to Alaska next month, and figured the lenses would be good for that kind of trip, if anyone can give me their opinions/advice I would appreciate it...

Wait a second... You bought a Panasonic Lumix with the Leica lens on? The quality of that lens should not be compromised with an auxiliary lens, IMHO. I mean you can shoot without Tele or WA auxiliary lenses and work it in PS. Otherwise you'll render the Leica lens as any other ordinary lens. Instead look for a more expensive auxiliary lens made by Panasonic or Leica. As for filters, you will need the Polarizer alone (and maybe the UV filter to be used only for protecting the lens). Buy a good brand polarizer, such as BW or Toyo. You will not need the FLD (Fluorescent Light to Daylight) since your camera can compensate, or you can compensate later in PS. All the other gizmos, such as flexible tripod are not worth spending your money on. Maybe a microfiber cloth and a lens lipstick brush so you can dust it off when necessary.

I didn't buy any special lenses, I just bought the Standard Camera with the Panasonic Lens... I have 12x Optical Zoom on the Panasonic, but wanted a telephoto lens, for the far off shots I'll have in Alaska. Can you recommend a college student budget telephoto add-on Lens? Aparently they just screw on the threading on the hood adapter. Are any of these any good?

Sorry for the confusion... Your Panasonic comes with the Leica lens on. That lens is high quality by itself and my idea was that you shouldn't put anything in front of it if it doesn't have a good name such as Leica auxiliary. But if you must really have one, I would go with either Canon or Sony.

Doesn't that have a zoom? From what I saw, it's comparable to a 36mm to 432mm lens on a 35mm film camera. That's a really good range. I personally wouldn't use an aux lens on it.
