I'd like to ask that everyone keep in mind that he's 5 months old now.. so he moves A LOT more lol so I know some of them have a little blur in the face. The first few are from when he was 3 months old, the other's I took tonight His mother asked me to take more last night and he's a good practice

Very cute! Love the expressions. Perhaps a faster lens or some better lighting will help your movement dilemma.

Wow, do you find that within a month or two you have already improved alot with your lighting and composition? The December ones looks just fine with the available resources, but you can see how you started to utilize them more as time progresses. (I guess it is also a little handy when he can start to prop himself up a bit more eh?)

Anyways, my favourite is defintely the last, the posing works for me and the way both 'subjects' are peering off in the same direction adds something especially in BW. I am sure his mother is very happy with these.

haha, yes it is much more handy when he can just about sit up on his own. In December, the only way to sit him up was up on the arm of the chair, last night, if I moved quickly enough, he would sit up long enough for me to get a decent shot. As far as lighting goes, in December, it's all natural light from a window as it was daylight and I had no one there with me to add any more lighting, and last night I just used the overhead light but I also had his mom and dad behind me making him smile (which he does more willing now lol). These are far from studio pics but they work well for what his mother wanted Anyways, I'm sure to have more in another couple of months or so because his parents really like me to take the pics for them and plus he has a cousin (little girl) to be expected in May, sooooo, more babies to have fun with!
