Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
When posed with a photography question, I always know the right place to come to!

I have just been offered a Minolta 7000 SLR, 3 lenses, 2 with filters, 8 seperate filters, some film, electronic remote control, dedicated flash gun, metal padded case, manual and an extra flash diffuser all for £70 (about $150).

Bearing in mind I've been looking to start off with a cheap SLR, is this a good deal? What should I ask about it? Things to know?

I know it's in good condition, the man selling it loves his camera's so I know it'll be well looked after.

without knowing this camera or the specs of the lenses my gut still tells me to go for it :)

Can you offer some details on the lenses?

Hello,

This was a pretty high end camera in its day and providing all the elctronic bits work, should still be a good performer. With those lenses and extras added in, it's plenty of camera for £70.

BTW, please let me know where you get your money exchanged - I'd like a piece of the action at that exchange rate.

A very, very liberal guesstimate. Actually it's more like $110-120, thinking about it properly now. I'm so crap at maths, hence the reason I'm not a mathematician!

That's what I need to find out, I'm getting a full spec sheet tonight while I'm at work. My gut is telling me it's a good deal though... so I'm pretty much decided I reckon.

I spend too much time browsing the Minolta sections on eBay.

Yup, very good deal if it all works.

And, even if the lenses are crap you can sell them on eBay and buy yourself a good one and it'll have cost you nothing. :)

A couple of links.

Hey ferny, thanks for those links. I've seen the camera, it's all in good working order, there are actually 3 lenses with it - 2 vivitar and 1 sigma, I'm no expert but if they do the job that's fine. Roll on payday!
