This was my first time to attend the reenactment of the Battle of San Jacinto. It was HOT and I definitely made some mistakes like not bringing an umbrella and assuming that there would be water down at the reenactment field. But I survived and I'll definitely have a better game plan next year.

2.) Fire! Look! You can see the sparks from the shot!

I have the rest of my photos at this Flickr set.

Wow. What a cool experience. The third one is a great picture. Nice work

Oh, it does look hot-hot-hot.
So much so that I find it hard to say "These are cool pictures", as obviously they are not ... you know ...

That cannon fire shot is interesting with the sparks!! And I like how that firing soldier turns away covering his ears and eyes from the impact (and I guess two others do the same on the other side, but they are hidden by the smoke).

Turning away from the canon because it was LOUD. Nothing that would damage your hearing, but loud enough that you had to brace yourself. I had my fingers in my ears the first time, but I realized I was never going to get any photos that way. I need them for my camera!

Thanks for the comments!
