Before and After

First off - huge props to Wolf Camera for replacing a camera they didn't have to. By all rights...they could have just told me I had to send it in to Nikon. Wolf rocks.


So if anyone saw my thread about a matrix problem my D50 encountered, I wanted to follow up and show the difference in blank photos.

The first one was taken in the Wolf Camera store while I was showing the clerk what the problem was. I left the cap on and snapped a photo. Then I zoomed in and showed him the spot. This photo, however, is after I get home and then pull the levels all the way up to bring out the issue.

The second picture was taken with the replacement camera they gave me. Not much to look at...as it is entirely black.

I guess I do have a question in all of this.

Will the same thing happen to the new camera? Is there an inherent flow with the Sony sensor?

That first shot looks like a cracked Sensor cover. I wouldn't worry about this happening again tbh.
