Beginner needs input!

I just found this forum and would love some critique. I am new to photography, and have become obsessed with it! I hope I did the link right.

Welcome to the forum.

I like how the ridge of ice & snow is curved and it leads the viewer's eye into and though the image. I like the texture of the snowy landscape.

I do think it is underexposed and lacking contrast though. It could maybe be a little sharper as well.

I LOVE this picture! Although I think maybe it needs brightened because I thought it was sand. I don't know why I thought that with it being the end of winter and all.

I agree it does look like it needs more light. Maybe I tried to enlarge it too much. Here's the smaller version.

snow shots need to be overexposed at shoot time, if its film on a bright day, up to three stops, maybe four.

I honestly thought it was sand, too... But saying that, the second one looks alot better!
