Best DSLR Instructional Book? (for canon 40d?)

I'm am about to purchase a canon 40d, and was hoping that someone could recommend a good instructional book, either for this specific camera, or for dslr in general. Please let me know what YOU have found to be the most useful and informative.

I do plan to take lessons at some point in the future, but for the time being I'd like to at least get a good understanding of the terminology and concepts behind using a dslr.

I'm editing my reply - I do want to stress that the factory manual is good for reference and none of these books are a magic pill so to speak.
Playing with the camera as you go through the manual is the best thing you can do to familiarize yourself with it.

There is very little that is specific to the 40D. What you should be reading about is 'Photography' and 'Exposure'.

Use the manual that came with your camera. Save the money for books on exposure, composition, technique, etc. If there is a specific aspect of your camera's functionality with which you are having difficulty, post a question here and/or search the web. YouTube has a wealth of vidoe tutorials; some are excellent, some, not so much.
