Best large compact?

I need to buy a large compact with high resolution, good noise performance and RAW capability. I've been looking at the Canon G9 and the new Nikon Coolpix P6000. Can anyone compare these for me?

In particular, I see the ISO range for the G9 is given as 80-1600, whereas the P6000 has a much wider range of 64-6400. Is the P6000 really 4 times as sensitive as the G9? What is the noise performance likely to be for both cameras on similar shots?

Are there any other cameras in this league that I should be considering?

I've just answered my own question. Seems the P6000 doesn't have RAW after all, at least not in any usable format. It only works with Windows Vista, which I neither have nor ever intend getting. So the Nikon's out. Bit of an "own goal".
