Hi,

In your opinion, what is the absolute best, highest quality place to have your photos printed?

Price is no concern!

Do they have different finishes available?

20x30 and larger sizes?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon now.

Thanks,
Mike V

Depends on whether you're printing a digital image or not.

For film, where you go, the print should be on fiber based paper. If you're worried about archival quality, then it should be toned with a gold or sulphide toner. Alternatively, an actual platinotype will last practically forever (and there are, indeed, places that will make platinotypes for you).

For digital, somewhere with a proper LightJet is the best. A lot of places use cheaper photo printers that are not as good and are limited to RC papers.

However, I must say that when I do a side-by-side comparison of my traditional prints with ones that were made on a $300,000 LightJet, the traditional ones still look better.

I suppose I'll add that whenever I have occasion to have a digital file printed, I have it done at JW Photo Labs in Raleigh, NC. They're wonderful.
