Detailed discussion on the topic may be concluded if someone uploads sample shots taken with the latest full frame body+kit lens of entry level camera, and entry level body+the highest quality glass. A picture speaks more than thousand words, after all.

if you really have this decision to make, you probably don't need either a 5D Mark III, or a $2K+ lens. Go with a nice prosumer body like the 70D, and take a shot at a decent zoom (ie 24-105L, 15-85, etc) and a prime or 2 and work your way up depending on where photography takes you.

If you go MkIII with a crappy lens, or a T3 with a pro lens - you're wasting money on a body or a lens either way.
