Big hello from Brooklyn, NY!

Hi, I'm totally new to photography and I recently picked up my first DSLR (Nikon D5200).
It's a big upgrade coming from a pocket sized point and shoot and it's a bit overwhelming even for a entry level cam.
I came here hoping I can learn a thing or two and maybe even get a few questions answered.
