Birds in cages

Salam

i have kodak easy share z1085 IS
i am trying to take photos for my birds inside the cages
but the wires are showing in the pic which is corrupting it :S
i am trying to be as close as possible to the wires but still they r showing
in addition to fearing the birds by being that close they start to move fast :S

any advice?

Don't use flash, period.

Salaam alaikum.

As was mentioned, do not use a flash. Also, if your camera allows manual control of the aperture, set it to as small an f/stop number as possible.

You may be limited by your equipment here, though.

Oh, and a tripod. If you can set the camera on a tripod, you can set it right up against the birdcage, but you can be further back so that you don't scare the birds and cause them to fly around.

i just need some more clarifications

my camera allows the manual usage but i wasnt able to control the options becoz i dont know what does every one means
so sometimes i have blurred pics and other times i had black pics
without mentioning the cage wires appearing

of the aperture

what is that :$ ???
and what does it mean ??

1 more question (A)
if i want to take a pic of a flying bird and make sure to see his wings clear in the picture .. what are the best options to do that ??
