Black and White HDR

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone had any experience doing HDR(High Definition....?) Ive seen it done with digital color; however,i was wondering if it can be done with black and white film. Exposing for each part of a scene and then putting them together on a computer. Anyone?

High dynamic range...... i have experiance with digital..... but not film..... it can be done with film, however, it seems a bit of a waste of time to me because the effect of HDR is to produce a wider range of tones through a colour image and at a higher bit rate per channel...... being 32bit per channel. So to create a b+w image, although still effective to a degree (you still might get improved tones), would not take full advantage of the effect of a HDR merge.
