I like the colored version significantly more as it feels like you are losing something without it. It would be like seeing a Van Gogh painting printed in grayscale. I love B&W photography when it involves less vibrant subjects or more morose scenes but that isn't the case here.
I am on the other side of the fence on this one. I like the B&W, it feels so cold to me. Almost desolate, like this beautiful flower had the strength to blossom in the dead of winter. I wonder if the viewer response would have been the same had you waited until the winter to post this picture.

Not HDR, just single exposures. Done some dogding and buring to bring out the shadows and light parts in the photos. Might be too much. Also, cloned out something in the LLC in the second image. Luckily for me, this background does not need me to spend much time on the cloning
