Black & White Portrait

Photo of my ten year old daughter taken by a window and converted to black & white. Comments would be appreciated.

Nice and sharp, but overall the photo is kind of boring. Her glance is eye-catching, but the rest doesn't spark much for me.

It's kind of flat...looks like delta 400 (or poor conversion). The contrast is off...i.e. the hair is too dark and the shirt is blown out.

Hi Franc, welcome to ThePhotoForum.
You are very brave to start on TPF in the Photo Critique forum, i.e. that forum where you might get the harshest of critiques. Maybe you might have wanted to show this in the People and Pets Forum, instead?

For here you might see people tear your picture apart (which can happen in Photo Critique, since it is a special forum, see the Critique_Forum_FAQs ), a photo that - I am sure - is close to your heart, means a lot to you, and you would much rather just share than find critisised here, there and there? Shouldn't I rather move it?
