Borrowing Ideas, sin or compliment?

How do you guys combine photos? I had to use MSpaint, couldnt get it in PSHOP!

To merge in photoshop is easy. First make sure the camera is on a steady tripod as this makes the job much easier.

Take your shots (can be as many as you want) - Start with 2.

Open your 2 images in Ps and then click and drag one image over to the other (hold down shift while you do this to centre the image)

Now select the top layer and add a layer mask (click the small white circle at the bottom of the layers pallet).

Make sure you click on the layer mask to select it and paint black on the mask (just using a soft paint brush) to hide parts of the top layer and if you make an error just paint white again to reveal the top layer.

Hide the parts of the top layer you want to hide and voila. You can flatten or save as a layered tif/psd file.

EOS is there a tutorial to this online somewhere? Im trying it and I just cannot GET it to go.... Im really bad with layers!!!!

Not too sure.... Open both images in photoshop you should see both on the screen. Hold down the shift key (on a PC) and left click in one of the images. Now hold that left mouse button (whilst holding the shift key too) and drag the image over to the other image and let the left mouse button go.

Now look at the layers pallet and there should be two layers. The Background layer and the layer you just dragged over.

To reveal the layer beneath, you can use the erase brush with the top layer selected but the layer mask is a better easier way to hide/show the top image.

Scott Kelby's books are very good.
