Broke part of lens

I dropped my camera and the mounting ring on the lens broke. One of the tabs that locks in broke off.
Can this be repaired or do i need a whole new lens?

Can you post a picture? Maybe link to an image of your type of lens on the manufacturer's site, so we know which lens you mean, and wether we can muster an opinion.

how much did you pay for the lens? If under $500 it will likely be cheaper to replace the lens if you broke what I think you broke.

i dont have the money yet to replace it. I have a roll due tomorrow and this my only other lens is a 300mm.

Agreed. You can get a nifty fifty f/1.8 for $100-125 USD and zoom with your feet. It's a great lens to boot (as well).

not even a kit lens, but a quantaray kit lens. Looks like you've got a new paperweight.

Also if you need glass now but dont have the budget, consider renting.
