Building with concrete in Laos

Men building a watchman's post on a rural dam in rural (very) Laos. Outside of Luang Namtha, actually, about 13 km from where Laos, Burma and China meet.

No power mixers here, no power actually beyond human power. Sacks of concrete and rock carried up the trail. Concrete mixed by hand, rebar cut with hack-saw, pass mixed concrete up in buckets and tamp with the end of a pole.

Not a great picture on a dull day with little drama or color.
