busted camera

today i took my cam up the mountain to try to get some wildlife and nature shots,it was going great.i figured out how to do really close shots and filled my camera up with about 70 shots.some were really good close ups of creatures and plants.then disaster struck.when i was on my way down the mountain i spotted a blackberry bush with a lot of new growth which i thought was strange for this time of year so decided to shoot it.when i turned my camera on it wouldnt focus properly so I decided to turn it off and go home,but when I turned it off the lens would not go back in and close so i turned it off then back on.but when I turned it back on the lens was making the noise it makes when trying to focus but just wouldnt work.now I cant put my shots on my pc because the memory card will not fit into any of the card slots on my pc.its made me mad as hell:madmad:any sugestions anyone

Might try it again with a power plug instead of batteries or with fresh batteries. Happened to me once when I had a sony mavica, the lens retracts to keep it safe when you powered down. When the batteries died while I was using it, lens wouldn't retract. New batteries solved it for me. Other than that, not sure. What kind of camera do you have?

same thing when i had an old canon powershot maybe some new batteries

you can pick up a little usb memory card reader for around $10 if you are anxious to get the shots off the camera

yea i think ill get the usb reader there my best shots so far not much to a pro but good for an ametur,i tried new batts that didnt wrk.i can hear its trying to work but somethings stopping it.my cam is an olypus x-715.thanks for feedback
