Buying camera for web project - model member based website - on a budget - please hlp

I want to buy a camera, it's for leisure purposes and also my friend is a fitness model and instructor, and I'm working with him and we are making a member based website where we do video blogs and photoshoots

So I want to buy a camera as every month we'll be doing video blogs and photoshoots to put on the site

My preference was to go for something like the Nikon D7000

But this is expensive and I don't know if I need something sooooo professional for this.

I was thinking if there is something around $600 that could do the job good for me

For example Panasonic Lumix DMC? Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 review

Or Canon Powershot S95? Canon PowerShot S95 Review

Would this be good for me?

It's going to be content mainly for the internet, but if we can make posters out of some of the pictures, I'd like that too

Any thoughts?
