Hi all,
I really need advice. I have a Nikon D-3000 with 18-55mm VR & 55-200mm DX VR Lens Kit. The lens diameter for filters is 52mm (both).

Now, I have read about filter holders to use bigger filters on my camera.
What would be advantage of that?.

What If in the future I want to buy a new lens that does not have the same lens diameter?

Regards,

That's the advantage of using a filter holder. One filter accomadates a variety of lens sizes, rather than having a 52 mm filter and a 74 mm filter and a 77 mm filter, 3 common lens filter sizes.

The filters for filter holders is usually 4x6 inches (101.6 mm x 152.4 mm).

Another advantage of using a filter holder is the ability to adjust the position of the transition in graduated neutral density filter.

I highly recommend Lee Filters and their filter holder system: Lee Filters Standard Filter Holder System
