Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I took this photo on a hike to Waterfall Canyon above Ogden Utah. As it turns out it was the only photo of this rock outcroping and I wanted to try to clean it up. What might you do with this?

1 is the original resized to 800x600

2 is sharpend and a little green saturation

3 is converted using sharpen, channel mixer, color burn and soft light layer

Thank you for your time

It does get rid of the cluter, I like it. Also the black border helps alot.

Thanks
Dave

I came upon a very similar outcrop in Vermont.
Too much growth around it to make it work in a photo the way I saw it.

I am going back with a chainsaw this fall.

Definitely leave it color. You lose the rock to the trees in the B/W version. I went B/W crazy myself recently and it didn't really do justice to a lot of the photos I took. I agree with BusRider's edit, also, maybe add a little saturation, not too much, though. Just my .02:thumbup:

A minor idea that's springing to mind, after I've seen your colour edit: when you want to enhance the greens, don't up the green saturation, but the yellow. That's been my experience - for me it was play with the sliders, trial and error, and now I feel that it is the yellow element of greens in nature that you want enhanced. Not the green ones. Makes green look fake and sort of plasticky.

Here it is sharpened and with Yellow saturation also stmaped out the white glare in the middle.
