C&C Please:

Hmmm… I must say I had a similar experience here on the photo forum, a comment from a forum member that was just rude.
And btw you don’t have to curse to be nasty/rude, I believe there is no need to be rude/unpleasant when commenting or posting,
if you can’t find the words then don’t comment/post!

This is why I love TPF.. Never a dull moment. There are so many times I wanted to stop posting here.. Nope.. Keep coming back LOL.

Hey any c&c on my edit (on the first page of this thread)... go for it I can handle your comments (I think)

What I am seeing is a set of snapshots. To elevate them above the snapshot level, you have to put some effort into distilling whatever vision you had into something your audience can find interesting. There's nothing wrong with snapshots as a way of recording events and places. But if you want an image to stand on its own and be admired, you need to create something that gets people interested.

Yes. I agree with the comments of people above. Plus i don't consider the comment uninspiring rude at all. Its just honest criticism.

Actually, you should be glad that people here are actually HONEST about their feedback so that you can see what you did wrong and grow.

Friends will give you a lot of Bullsh!t about how great your photo is because they dont want to hurt your feelings. Or at least they don't know any better as well.

Take it as a critique and get better.

@raincheck - regarding your edit. Its definitely better imho because of the added drama/grunge look. For some reaon its also sharper but the pic is too noisy and theres visible overexposed (blank white data) in the pic. Post processing can only do so much. If you dont have a good photo to begin with, i dont think post processing will make it into a good photo.

Is the F100 a camera that still uses FILM?
These look like it. Very much so.

Uninspiring really.
I have to agree with this. Looking at these images, I see no story, get no sense of emotion, and find nothing to hold my interest. You may get something out of them, but that's because you have memories of events associated with them. The key to a good photograph is being able to impart your vision on people who weren't part of the event.

To the OP, you asked a question, and i responded. Sure, i could have elaborated, but i didn't. I believe that adage is "beware what you ask for" or "Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to."

My sincerest apologies for my honesty. I'll remember to blow smoke up your butt the next time. I guess that's what critiquing has come to these days...

Keep it coming. I really do deserve it.

I was in a bad mood and read his comment and got pissed.

However, I do know when I'm wrong. I'd like to apologize to D-B-J.

I got what I deserved by acting like a little b!tch.

It is a good mark for you that you can admit your error and apologize.

I have a lot of practice.

Plus like Bitter's sig: "Art is hard."

And what touches some people, other people could care less about.

It is hard to distance oneself from having feelings towards some of their shots. I am learning.

Once you start looking at other people's posts and seeing what everyone on here has to say about them, you will start to learn the biggest no no's and in turn you will get better and better. These really do look like film to me... almost like Kodachrome actually (at least the hose thingy). Also you might want to grow a pair if you are gonna keep posting pics for c&c... No offense, but a lot of these guys/gals are photography gurus.
