I was experimenting today and got this by shooting wide open.. Can you tell what it is?? Well, Duh..I put it in the thread title.. :er: Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I think you'd have done better by stopping down a few.
But then again I don't know what you were after, here.

I agree with Lightspeed about stopping down. Maybe only 5% of the image is in focus, and while the out of focus stuff is OK, good colours etc, with something
like cactus which is all about being sharp, I think having some of the spines in sharp focus would improve the shot. If you have a tripod, you can stop down
and extend the exposure and get more of the subject in focus. The background can stay out of focus, it will heighten the impact of sharply focussed part.
