Camera shoots light then dark photo's

I have been having issues with my Nikon D90. When I am taking pictures of a subject, it goes from light to dark photos in an instant. I don't change anything. I just keep taking pictures and it just does it on its own. Even when I take mutiple pictures in a row. I don't move the camera or anything. What could be causing this?

Automatic bracketing might very likely be engaged......

Either that or you are shooting under lighting to where you are catching it as it cycles. Drives me nuts when that happens.
