Can a viewfinder be cleaned?

I have a Minolta srT201 and would like to know if the viewfinder can be taken apart and cleaned. There is a smudge on the screen...mostly likely from a piece of foam that is wore out. Any help would be appreciated.

Camera repair shops can do this. It's not a realistic do-it-yourself project.
