Can anyone recognize the camera my mother is holding in this photo? The photo was taken in July of 1998 if that helps any.

Looks like the brand name or part of the name is in red

It could be almost anything. The general design was common enough and there is virtually no detail visible of the camera.

That's where I am with it. Cant really tell. Its really not that important to figure out. More of a curiosity than anything.

If we was on TV, we would run Compur's enlargement through Photoshop and have the maker's name clear as day.

Yesterday I went over to my dads place and he randomly handed me the camera in the photo. No idea if it still works but the battery compartment is clean at least.

Those old 35MM P&S are nearly indestructible. I'd venture it'll be fine. Toss a roll of film in and find out.

Everything seems to work. I have a roll of Kodak Gold 200 running through it currently.
