Candids? Do these have a classification?

Mostly close up shots of people faces. At the most from the waist up.

These are mostly close up shots of people.

The first two are of my friend Alan. Two very different shots in very different places but there is a common theme in the photos.

This is a girl on the side of the road in Nelson B.C. I put these up on another message board I post on and got some people to do some interesting things to with PS.

My fellow journalism student Devin.

Fellow at campus paper office with luchadore mask. I really like this one.

Jesse, at a party, in low light. Just a hint of sunlight left in the sky and on a mini tripod, with a flash and a super long shutter speed I got it.

Fierce Irish girl on St. Paddy's Day. A couple short hours after this she was sleeping it off, bear in mind it was 2:00 in the afternoon.

Freq Nasty (UK breaks DJ) at a club in Nelson. He spun with cd's which is really quite wack but he did get the crowd going. I have some more shots of him as well.

BTW I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT and either the 18-55 kit lens or a 50mm 1.8 for these shots. The only shot that doesn't use that lens is the second one down, that was with a 70-210 f4. For a flash it's the Canon Speedlite 420 EX.

A true candid is when the person don't know your shooting them.
Awesome work tho. I like the 2nd and last two images my self.

Ahh so I suppose only the second one down and the last one didn't know. They are more portraits I suppose.

I would definately label them portraits. They are great shots...but not really candids.
