Canon 500d VS Canon 1100d

Hi all,

Just wanted a suggestion.

I have a new born baby so planning to buy a DSLR.

I'm getting a good offer on canon 1100d and canon 500d models here in UAE.

I've checked the technical specs for both of them and feel that the 500d is better than the 1100d but only one doubt.

The 500d was launched in 2009 while 1100d is a new 2011 entry level DSLR.

I would require your frank opinions on this comparison if anyone is using either of them.

both the cameras that i'm getting are new from a Retailer
