Canon 70D vs Sony A7

Hey guys,

Right now, I have a 70D.
I'm thinking about to sell it, and buy a A7.

It is better then the 70D?

For photography, not for video.

Well you need to look at this in few different ways
1.Canon vs Sony
2.FF vs APS-C
3.Mirrorless vs DSLR
If I had to choose between these two I would go with the Sony simply because I LOVE full frame sensors but I would rather have the Nikon D610 over the two of them.

So let me answer one by one
1.Canon vs Sony-Getting a Canon (or Nikon) camera means you have access to years of wonderful lenses for all your needs plus many third party lenses
Sony is slowly improving its lens selection but it is still not even close to the lenses offering of Nikon and Canon.
2.FF vs APS-C well if you want better low light performance, make good use for FF lenses then FF is what you need to go for but this also means bigger and in most cases more expensive lenses.
3.Mirrorless vs DSLR well this is even more complicated, there are some VERY good Mirrorless and VERY good DSLR I would rather have DSLR for now but mirrorless can give in most cases just as good performance as DSLR.

The A7 is a fantastic camera but it is real different from what you are use to. Maybe you could rent one for a week or so to see how you like it.
