A friend of mine is the owner of Canon 7D and he's going to travel to Thailand for his honeymoon.

Do you recommend good rather than 18-135?

thank you

i just purchased the 24-105 and i love it on my 7d! great for everyday walking around...

All depends on the type of shots your friend will take. If they are not sure then 18-135 is a good range to have.

I also have the 24-105 on my 7D and it lives on my camera as a default. I also travel to Asia a lot and sometimes change down to my 16-35 f2.8 for street type walkabout photgraphy especially at night as I dont want flash disturbing the surroundings and drawing attention to my kit.

The 24-105 IS heavy and if you are walking around a lot it can be a PITA.

17-55 IS f/2.8 is a fantastic clear low distortion lense- effective focal length of 24-80mm which is proper wide angle to short tele.

next step down in overall quality of picture is the 15-85 which is better value- but more distortion.

If you stick 24-? on you wont have any wide angle ability without changing the lens
