Canon EOS Utility

Hello!

What is the purpose of the 'Canon EOS Utility' software program that came with my Canon EOS 30D?

I run Vista on my PC and this program is not compatible with Vista.

I've been using Digital Photo Professional to store and tweak my images since I purchased the 30D.

Am I missing anything critical by not using the EOS Utility software?
What exactly is it?

It is a front end for Canon's Download and Remote Shooting features. For some higher end Canon's, it is used to set custom feature sets.

Instead of downloading direct from the computer, most people find it easier just to use a card reader to read the files off of the media card.
