Canon Lense D550

Hi all,

New to this forum, and new to photography.

I have a Canon D550, standard lense 18-55, I want to start experimenting more and need to purchase some more lense

Have been looking at the 24-70 but today got shown a 17-55 wide angle was very impressed

Question: what would you recommend for general shots, landscape, indoor, portrait sports.

The very inexpensive 50mm f/1.8 II is a great portrait lens with excellent bokeh....great for beginners and pros!

Yeah I'll second that, the 50mm f/1.8 II is a great inexpensive little bang-for-your-buck lens..

Try setting your 18-55 to 55mm, and walk around abit with it like that, that'll get you a rough idea of the 50mm.. Be prepared to use your feet more to "zoom"
