I picked up a very nice condition Canon T60. I know the history of these cameras, but the simplicity and condition made me buy it. My question concerns the light seals, or the lack of. There is no evidence of it ever having any, no remnants or glue residue. Did the Canon look alike not need any seals?

I do not think that version had any foam seals. You can see that cleaver channel where the door interlocks into the back. Other than that look to see if the mirror bumper is OK.
Of course shoot a roll in bright sunlight to be sure no leaks. If a leak set the scarred neg on the film plane to see where the leak came from.

Interference baffles like that were common on 80s-90s Canon and Nikon bodies. Sometimes foam appears at the door hinge but not always.
I've seen these at photo swap meets with foam crammed into the film door channels that makes closing the back difficult. "Just like new!" according to the old shark vendor...
